This mid 1950s Hardy Amies demi-couture occasion dress is made from a sumptuous material in a deep orange paisley brocade with pink and golds accents. It has a sweetheart neckline, pleated shoulders and fitted princess seams to really accentuate the waist. The flared skirt creating a full silhouette with additional side panels to give an almost pannier like effect. Some of the panelled sections of the skirt are lined in a quality black tulle lace to add some structure, otherwise the dress is unlined. It zips up at the back with the original metal zipper and here is also a lower back panel detail that buttons over itself. The dress probably would have been worn with the addition of an underskirt and slip but we have photographed without to show you the natural line as it is.

Best fit for up to a UK 10 or US 6. Remarkable vintage condition with no issues noted; very fresh looking and no evidence of alterations.
